I don’t care a bean ::: Interessiert mich nicht die Bohne

„Interessiert mich nicht die Bohne….“
Diese Redewendung stammt tatsächlich schon aus dem 13. Jahrhundert und wird für „überhaupt nicht“, „nicht im Geringsten“ benutzt. Warum aber ausgerechnet die Bohne?
Bohnen sind leicht anzubauen und die Stückzahl ist immer groß. Eine einzelne Bohne besitzt dagegen keinen Wert.

This german phrase actually dates from the 13th Century, and is used for „not at all“. But why the bean?
Beans are easy to grow and the amount is usually large. In contrast, a single bean has no value.
